    Political Republican Opinion:

Once again, there is more stuff flying at me from every angle than I can even begin to write about. Each article or video is brilliant in its own right and deserves more than a blurb or two from me.

Unfortunately, this race is too close now (According to the Drudge Report, the latest Zogby poll has John McCain ahead by a point now - 48 to 47 – over Barack Obama) and there is only time to throw the best of the best up as rapidly as I can.

Now, more than ever, we need every single Republican to get out and vote. The cream always rises to the top, the crud to the bottom. Drag every other like-minded voter with you and make sure they vote! There’s a big stage set up in Chicago with fabulous looking columns. I want more than anything to watch them fall in the midst of the Obama Victory Celebration Obama Pity Riot.

And Now … It’s What You’ve Been Waiting For … The Political Republican Opinion Blog’s Best Of The Best, Must Read Posts!

    Whimsical Wisdom

I came across a brilliant post today on the Whimsical Wisdom blog that tells Barack Obama to put his money where his mouth is by spreading the wealth. Where the author wants him to spread his wealth to is priceless! Check it out at: Barack Obama, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is!

If that wasn’t great enough, the Whimsical Wisdom blog also has a humorous take on the half-hour Obama infomercial. It’s at: You Say Obama, I Say Sham-WOW!

Penn and Teller on Obama’s Tax Plan

I laughed so hard, I cried when I watched the following video. It shows that only an imbecile would think that Barack Obama’s tax plan could possibly work:

The Winds Of Change: Our Fight For Economic Freedom! Obama Bombshell

This next video puts Barack Obama’s corporate tax plan into perspective with solid numbers from those countries that have failed utilizing a similar plan.

The information in the video comes very quickly. Be prepared to use the “pause” button often. You don’t want to miss any of this!

Sarah Palin Pays Special Attention to Special Needs Families

The mainstream Liberal media and the ultra Left-wing bloggers continue to trash Sarah Palin. They cannot understand why a woman would want to keep a baby – especially a Downs Syndrome baby – with her career on the line. This, my friends, is one of the many things that make Sarah Palin so special:

That’s it for now. The snowball of support grows larger for the Republican ticket as it rolls down Victory Hill to the end of the campaign season. Remember to keep the faith, get out and vote and take a friend with you!

    Political Republican Opinion:

Political Republican Opinion - Halloween Obama Style! The neighborhood homeowners’ association where I live would probably describe me kindly as an “agitator.” I am always challenging the money they are spending on things and frequently point out ways to do things far cheaper or better companies to use.

The board members are quite happy with their “elected” positions and the power they hold over the neighborhood. I would not be surprised at all to learn someday that some of them were receiving kickbacks from some of the high-priced vendors they have contracted to do business with on the community’s behalf.

I am often asked by the “regular” folks in the community, “Why don’t you run for president of the association? We need someone like you to control how these people are spending our money!”

I shrug and say, “Sorry, I’m really not into all of the politics.” (Little do they know that I write this blog.)

“I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing, watching from the outside,” I say.

I guess that all changed tonight. This election is obviously getting to me.

At first, Halloween went as it normally does. Kids showed up at the door and they all got two pieces of candy. Things went swimmingly well. I got the polite “thank you’s” and the children went happily on their way.

Then, as the night wore on and it got later – you know, when the teens are the only ones who are still out and about – I decided to CHANGE things up.

Four older kids showed up at the door. They weren’t dressed terribly creatively; they were just out for the free candy. I looked into their bags and saw that some had more than the others. I gave the kid with the least amount of candy in his bag three pieces, the one with the next least amount got two pieces, one kid was given only one piece and the kid with the most in his bag, got nothing.

“Dude, I didn’t get anything!” the last kid said. “Yeah, and they got more than me,” the kid who only got one piece said.

“Sorry, my man,” I told the first kid, “I’m just trying to prepare you for the future.”

“If I did what Barack Obama wants me to do,” I told him, “I would have taken some of your candy and given it to the other three.”

“You gotta spread the wealth dude, it’s the patriotic thing to do! Just ask Joe Biden,” I said.

“That’s not fair!” the shorted kid said. “I’ve been out here for an hour more than the other guys.”

“So you think because you worked harder, you should get more candy?” I asked him.

    “Well, yeah!” the kid said.

I told him that he better get used to it. “If Obama wins, this is how things are going to be with everything. If you don’t like it, tell your parents about it. Better yet,” I added, “make sure you let your teacher know!”

To set the record straight, I only did that once. I forget how young I was when I learned to string a series of completely unrelated cuss words into a sentence that seemed to make complete sense. This kid had it down, though!

I did do something else, however, that proved to be unpopular. This, I kept up throughout the night.

The school system, in their infinite wisdom, gave all of the children UNICEF boxes and told them to ask for donations while they were trick or treating. Not knowing this, I did not go to the bank and get a couple of rolls of quarters and I don’t have hundreds of dollars in bills to hand out either.

Fortunately, most parents told their kids to leave the boxes at home. Halloween is not a time to go soliciting money door-to-door, they rightly reasoned. I did, however, have a handful of kids who showed up with the boxes, asking for donations.

I asked them all the same two questions. “Do you know what UNICEF is?” was the first question I asked. To all but one, I had to explain that it stands for the United Nations Children’s Fund and that it exists to help the children of the world who are hungry, sick, abused or need schools built for them.

“I’ll let you make the choice,” I told them. “Either I can give you two pieces of candy or I will give you a dollar to put in your UNICEF box. Which do you want?”

Not a single child sacrificed his candy for the children of the world (future Democrats, I’m sure).

One parent (she has Obama signs in her yard), got mad and told me it was outrageous for me to ask a child to make such a decision. “Okay,” I told her, “you decide!” She told me to give her child the candy and stormed off in a huff, dragging her son by the wrist.

That’s the difference between Democrats and Republicans. My parents never would have let me take the candy over voluntarily helping someone else. Of course, they probably never would have let me walk around with the box - putting my neighbors in an awkward position - in the first place!

This is why I’ll never run to become the homeowners’ association president. I ruffle too many feathers trying to do the right thing. People don’t like it when you try to actually educate their children. Lord knows the public school system isn’t doing it.

I don’t know … If I did run, how many votes do you think I lost tonight?

    Political Republican Opinion:

Political Republican Opinion - Is Obama a Marxist? There is so much happening the final week before the election that I cannot even begin to do it all justice. In order to get out as much crucial information as I can, I will be going with rapid fire bursts of things I have found or that have been sent to me - thanks, Larry M. Walker Jr!

Barack Obama – Affiliated With Major Socialist Party

Feminists 4 Sarah Palin recently posted a piece about Barack Obama’s ties to one of the nation’s most influential Socialist Parties. The Democratic Socialists of America endorsed Barack Obama and helped register voters on behalf of Obama.

Read about it here: Obama is Hiding a Radical Past

Barack Obama Learned His Lessons Well!

Recognized as the founder of modern community organizing in America, Saul Alinsky has been a huge influence in the life of Barack Obama. He was such a powerful influence, that Saul Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, recently credited Barack Obama with “learning his lessons well.”

What were the lessons Obama learned? They can be found in Saul Alinsky’s 1971 handbook for community organizers, “Rules for Radicals.” A summary of Alinsky’s 11 Rules can be found here: “Rules for Radicals”

Marxists/Socialists/Communists Section on Barack Obama’s Website!

This sounds like one of those completely fabricated stories; but it is definitely true! If you don’t believe me, you may visit the section here: Marxists/Socialists/Communists for Obama

Obama’s Affinity for Marxism Began in College

Although Barack Obama scoffs at the notion that he is a Socialist, his books, “Dreams of my Father” and “The Audacity of Hope,” specifically point out the origins of his far Left leanings and fascination with Marxism.

Fox News’ Bill Sammon writes about it here: “Obama Affinity to Marxists Dates Back to College Days”

Obama Trashes the Constitution and Capitalism

I would hope that anyone who has even a smattering of interest in this political election has heard the audio from the 2001 Chicago radio interview where Barack Obama says that the Supreme Court should have legislated redistribution of wealth from the bench.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Obama also denigrated the constraints of the US Constitution. If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t the President of the United States have to take an oath of office at the inauguration? I believe it goes something like this:

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Well … that could be awkward for President Obama, couldn’t it?

If you haven’t heard the interview, it can be found here: Obama Bombshell - Redistribution of Wealth Audio Uncovered

    Who is Barack Obama?

All of this Socialism and Marxism stuff could be a moot point. According to Andy Martin, there is no such person as Barack Obama. The person we now know as Barack Hussein Obama was switched at birth and he is really Frank Marshall Davis III.

The “Operation Aloha Obama” investigation digs up a conspiracy to hide the identity of Barack Obama’s real father due to racial stigmas that were present in the early 1960’s. You can read about it at “Barack Obama is not ‘Barack Obama’.”

Finally, in case you are wondering, the answer is “ABSOLUTELY NOT!” I sat through the entire Democratic Convention, the Republican Convention and all four debates. The thought of having to watch a thirty minute Hollywood production of “Barack Obama, Leader, Man of the People and Savior of the World” is more than I could stomach. Listening to the same handful of recycled talking points – Hollywood style – would have been too much. Pizza is great going down but isn’t nearly the same coming up!

    Political Republican Opinion:

Political Republican Opinion - stupidity and greed are driving the electorate Barack Obama's way I spent fourteen years in the hospitality industry here in Orlando, Florida. At the beginning, it was exciting to meet people from all over the country and the rest of the world and get their unique perspectives on things. After a few years, though, it got kind of old. At year five, I began to lose my faith in humanity.

I should clarify that a little. People from the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand were exceptionally cheerful and easygoing. Bermuda, Gibraltar and Malta can be credited with having great people with good attitudes as well.

The two countries with the most miserable people that seemed clueless about anybody but themselves, however, were France (I know … what a shock!) and the United States. Since people from France were few and far between, dealing with the pettiness and greed of the American public was what finally drove me out of the industry. I couldn’t stand the “me, me, me” attitude of so many Americans. It made me sick to see how so many of my fellow countrymen would try any angle to scam a discount and how thoughtless they were of others around them. I was often embarrassed by the stupidity of the American general public as a whole.

I bring this up because it is one of the only rationalizations that I can come up with that would explain why anyone with the capacity for reason, would vote for Barack Obama. Our Liberal school system is spending more per student than any other country on the planet but producing some of the most uneducated people in the world. Far too many students leave the school system that don’t have the capacity for reason and seem to believe that the only way to win an argument is by screaming louder than the other guy. This is a key component of the Democratic Party’s base. Keep them dumb and hope they are too apathetic to seek real answers to common sense questions.

Of course, the only other reasons for voting for Obama that I can come up with are jealousy and greed. People are jealous of those who have more than they do and just think it’s unfair. This is the prime reason that other countries of the world would love to see America knocked down a peg or two. The American public hasn’t sought the answers to questions that remain unasked of Barack Obama and is more than happy to get a kickback from the Democratic presidential hopeful. If the evil, rich corporations and their executives have to take a tax hit in the process, all the better! Barack Obama knows this and has spent his entire campaign talking about how he is going to give tax cuts to 95% of working Americans. He talks of corporate greed but is appealing to the thing I saw so much in the hospitality industry – the greed of the American public at large. Obama is unabashedly buying their votes with a promise – the same promise that was given by both the Clinton and Carter administrations that went unfulfilled.

Obama’s plan is working to perfection because his supporters haven’t taken the time to think things through or just don’t have the capacity to do so. “Why would the Obama wealth redistribution plan be such a bad idea?” is the unasked question. I’ll try to answer it as simply as possible:

Let’s assume that Paul works for a small manufacturing company in Ohio, which is owned by Peter. Paul grinds it out every day along with all of the other “Pauls” at the company and barely makes ends meet. Peter and some of the top executives at the company, make ten to one hundred times what Paul is making off of his sweat and labor.

Under Barack Obama’s plan, he will take money from Peter and give it to Paul. He will do this by raising the corporate tax rate on Peter, who already pays the highest corporate tax rate in the world when combined with the corporate taxes that Peter’s state charges his company. Obama will also tax Peter’s own personal income at a higher tax rate to help pay Paul more. In addition, Barack Obama will levy fines against Peter if he doesn’t offer a health care plan to Paul that Obama feels is appropriate. Finally, Barack Obama, along with the rest of the Democratic Party, wants to get rid of the secret ballot process for organizing unions in the country. This makes the process far more susceptible to pressure from union leaders and will result in a huge growth in unions (the Democratic Party’s base). Peter, once again, gets stiffed because, if Paul bands together with all of the other workers at his company, Peter may be forced to pay higher salaries and offer more benefits than he would have if the organizing of unions wasn’t made so easy.

So why is this Paul’s problem? All is good for Paul, it would seem. He’ll have more money and won’t have to work a bit harder to get it.

Peter, on the other hand, has bills to pay. He was in Paul’s position once and worked extremely hard, saving every spare dollar until he had enough to invest in his own company. He worked harder still to build the company, working 70 hour weeks, and frets about his company every waking hour. Yes, Peter has reaped the rewards of all of his hard work, but he has the bills to go along with the income. What will Peter do, now that his he and his business are being hit from every angle with new expenses? Sure, he could trim a little off his own salary, but why should he? Why would he? There are plenty of other alternatives for Peter.

First of all, Peter can take a closer look at his company. He will most assuredly look at the wages he is paying his employees as well as their job duties. Cutting salaries, hours and jobs is certainly an option Peter will consider in order to recoup the losses he is experiencing from the Obama plan. He could also do the next-most logical thing - raise the prices of his products. If all businesses opt for this approach, the tax breaks Paul received will be dwarfed by the new, higher costs of goods and sevices.

Peter will, of course, have to scrap the plans he had of opening another manufacturing plant and warehouse facility on the other side of town. “It’s a shame.” Peter thinks to himself, “I could have made a lot more money from that new operation and would have had to hire a lot more employees. Instead of creating jobs, though, I’ll be cutting them in order to make ends meet.”

Peter has run into a bit of a snag, however. Under the Obama plan, union organizers have blanketed the country, unionizing employees at virtually every company in the city. It is very hard to cut jobs without incurring the wrath of the union. A strike has been threatened and Peter may be forced to shut down his company. Peter looks for solutions elsewhere.

He has a cousin in Ireland who has often spoken of how good he has it there. The corporate tax rates are one-third of what they are in the US. Maybe he should just pack up his operation and move it overseas, where he will be able to grow his company more rapidly and reap greater financial benefits for himself. Unfortunately, ever since Ireland lowered its corporate tax rate to just 11%, so many companies have lined up to set up operations in that country, that there is practically a waiting list for available space to build an enterprise. Furthermore, the increased competition of new companies has caused wages to increase rapidly as businesses fight for the best people to fill the positions in their companies.

Fortunately, Ireland is not the only fish overseas. France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and Norway have learned their lessons from the past, when increasing corporate tax rates all but destroyed their economies. They have been joining in the competition, lowering their countries’ corporate tax rate levels in order to compete for the best companies that will offer new job opportunities for their citizens. Smaller countries like Switzerland, Estonia and Hong Kong have very competitive rates now and certainly would be worth Peter’s consideration, as well. “Heck,” Peter thinks to himself, “even Canada and Russia are considering dropping their corporate tax rates now. Canada wouldn’t be much of a move at all!”

Peter definitely has decisions to make now, as does the rest of the American public. They both need to do their homework. American voters need to review the policies of the Hoover administration that led to and prolonged the Great Depression. They need to read about how the Carter administration’s policies (which, like Herbert Hoover’s, are strikingly similar to those of Barack Obama) led to dramatic inflation, huge job losses, and an extremely weak dollar. They need to educate themselves – something the Liberal public school system has failed to do.

Many people have said that Barack Obama is like Robin Hood, reasoning that he robbed from the rich to give to the poor. That is an unfair knock against Robin Hood, however. He took from the government and gave back to the citizens. An Obama administration and Democrat-led Congress could not be more different from Robin Hood. They want to rob the public to expand government.

Instead, the Obama administration is really just robbing Peter to Pay Paul. They’ve got to realize, though, that after being robbed a couple of times, Peter will be looking to move to a new neighborhood.

    Political Republican Opinion:

It’s Sunday - my lazy posting day. As usual, I have more chores than can be done before the football games begin (I do have my priorities!) and I even have a customer who I promised I would go see this morning (he’s only available on Sundays). Nonetheless, I have collected a few snippets this week that are pertinent to this year’s presidential election and that I have saved for today:

McCain Rapidly Gaining Ground On Obama

On Saturday, Reuters posted the results of the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll that indicated that Barack Obama’s national lead had slipped from 12 points on Thursday, to 10 points on Friday and just 9 points that day.

Today, the Obama lead slid another whopping 4 points to just a 5 point lead over John McCain in the Sunday Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll.

The reason for the abrupt gains by John McCain is - get this - the economy! Now that McCain has finally shifted his focus from negative attack ads to the thing that is foremost on the minds of Americans, voters are beginning to question whether Obama’s plan will put the country in a far worse position than it currently is in and are beginning to believe that John McCain has the better plan.

Despite the mainstream Liberal media’s attempts to discourage Republicans from wasting their time at the voting booth, common sense is finally beginning to sink in. The poll manipulations are not working anymore and Republicans need to vote now more than ever before!

Democrat Supporter – “Joe Biden is a Liar and a Cheat!

Normally, I take these kinds of things with a grain of salt. When someone posts an E-Mail message purporting to be from a credible source, how can one be sure? I guess it depends on who the source is and whether there is any supporting evidence or a way to follow up with the source.

There may be something fishy here and I’m still not completely sure; but, an E-Mail posted on the “Political View” seems to pass the “stink test.”

The message is purportedly from a member of the Board of Directors of a private jet company who claims that Joe Biden stiffed his company for $15,000. I am inclined to believe that this is a credible story because he provides all of his contact information. Not only does Bruce D. Riddle provide his name, title and company that he works for, but he lists his business phone number, cell phone number and fax number. I hope he likes to correspond with people a lot!

One thing is bothering me about it, however. It seems to be impossible to post a comment on the blog. There is a brief video following the E-Mail that contains a collection of Obama and Biden gaffes as well as a montage of pictures of Obama and some of his more dubious associates. At the bottom, there is a Digg bookmark and a “posted by” link pointing to someone who goes by the pseudonym of “Timely.”

“Timely,” it turns out, is Tim Ley, whose claim to fame is that he and his family witnessed a “huge UFO” passing over their home. The bio also states that Tim was at Woodstock in 1969. Whoa dude, talk about a serious flashback!

I did not bother calling Bruce Riddle and I’m sure there are plenty of you out there who would be more than happy to. If it is all a bogus story made up by someone who had one too many hits of the happy hay, so be it. At least there was a fun video to watch!

    Obama Mocks Christians!

There’s not much to say about this that the video doesn’t say itself. I could rant and rave about how Obama is not a real Christian and about how his views of Christianity have been skewed by the teachings of Reverend Wright or by his mother, the atheist.

Why believe me, though? I’ll just let Barack Obama speak for himself:

As always, all comments are welcome on any of the above topics!

Political Republican Opinion Quote of the Day: “When at some future date, the high court of history sits in judgment on each one of us - recording whether in our brief span of service we fulfilled our responsibilities to the state - our success or failure, in whatever office we may hold, will be measured by the answers to four questions: Were we truly men of courage? … Were we truly men of judgment? … Were we truly men of integrity? … Were we truly men of dedication?” – John F. Political Republican Opinion:

Political Republican Opinion - Barack Obama refusing to pledge allegiance to the flag The city of Chicago has already started preparations for the Obama victory celebration in downtown Chicago’s Grant Park. The cost of the event – a cool $2 million. If Barack Obama wins, it will be quite a party; if he doesn’t, it may very well be the world’s largest riot!

The Obama campaign will be footing the bill, drawing out the massive sum from contributions made for his election since the city, according to Mayor Richard Daley, cannot “in this financial crisis … afford $2 million on this.” The city of Chicago still will be in charge of spending the money that donors had earmarked for the Obama campaign, however.

Daley said that he would have preferred the event to be held indoors at the United Center, where the celebration tab would be cheaper, but will bow to Barack Obama’s wishes.

“Could you see me saying no to Sen. Obama?” Daley told reporters yesterday. “Give me a break; I’m not that dumb!”

People who live in Chicago and know the “connections” that mayor daily (allegedly) has, should find this statement particularly disturbing. If he’s scared of saying “no” to Barack Obama, I cannot imagine what a lesser-connected person should be feeling! Apparently, denying Obama would be worse than refusing Tony Soprano!

The Obama campaign said that it could not have used the United Center if it wanted to; a concert by Celine Dion is scheduled for that night in the venue. Ironically, Dion’s song, “You and I,” was the theme song of the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Both John McCain and Sarah Palin say they are comfortable in the underdog role but they warn that the election is not over.

“My opponent’s looking pretty confident … these days,” McCain said. “He’ll be addressing the nation soon. He’s got another of those big stadium spectacles in the works. But acting like the election is over; it won’t let him take away your chance to have the final say in this election.”

Speaking at a Virginia Beach rally on October 13th, McCain continued, “The national media has written us off. Senator Obama is measuring the drapes, and planning with Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid to raise taxes, increase spending, take away your right to vote by secret ballot in labor elections, and concede defeat in Iraq. But they forgot to let you decide. My friends, we’ve got them just where we want them.”

McCain then went on to compare Barack Obama to President Herbert Hoover, an “intellectual,” who believed in government intervention and that there was a technical solution for every social and economic problem.

    A Brief History Lesson:

Herbert Hoover believed that he could improve the conditions for all Americans by increased regulation and by encouraging volunteerism. Hoover expanded the size of the federal government by encouraging civil servants in federal positions, cancelled private oil leases on government lands, advocated tax reductions for low-income Americans and closed tax loopholes for the wealthy (Hmmm … Does this sound familiar?).

He proposed federal loans for urban slum clearances, proposed a Federal Department of Education and chaired a White House conference on home ownership (Does this sound even more familiar? If not, check out this Stanley Kurtz article!).

President Hoover went on a seven-week “goodwill” tour of Latin America (like the Obama World Tour, perhaps?), where an assassination attempt by Argentine anarchists was made on his life. He looked the other way, however, and praised the country for its hospitality. He also withdrew US troops from Nicaragua and Haiti, proposed an arms embargo on Latin America and advocated a one-third reduction of the world’s naval power. (Substitute “nuclear arms” for “naval power” and this should sound really, really familiar! Obama believes we can totally eliminate all nuclear weapons!)

Oh, yeah … Herbert Hoover was also the President during the Great Depression. After the stock market crashed on October 29, 1929, President Hoover tried various things to turn the economy around. He restricted free trade by imposing tariffs on imported goods in a move to help alleviate the massive federal budget deficit. This resulted in a world-wide Depression. Foreign nations retaliated, imposing their own high tariffs on American goods which only worsened the situation in the United States. (Doesn’t Obama want to “renegotiate” the free trade agreement?)

Hoover then formed a consortium of the nation’s largest banks, calling it the National Credit Corporation, in an attempt to make money available to smaller banks. This, too, failed and more than 5,000 banks went under.

In a final attempt to unburden the federal government from the massive budget deficit it had incurred from increased social program spending, the Congress passed and President Hoover signed into law, the Revenue act of 1932. This Act increased taxes progressively on individuals as their incomes went up and implemented higher corporate taxes. This resulted in the highest unemployment rate in the history of the United States; nearly 25% of the country became unemployed. (I thought that taking money away from “the rich people” and increasing corporate taxes was supposed to be a good thing! The United States already has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world, which has led to companies moving operations - and jobs - overseas and reductions in foreign investment in US companies.)

It is important to note that Herbert Hoover was a “Republican” and that he became President during one of the most robust periods of economic growth in this country’s history. It just goes to show that policies, not Party affiliations, are what can bring a nation and the world to its knees!

Let’s see now … where was I? Oh, yes; I remember! … McCain was comparing Barack Obama to President Hoover …

“They say those who don’t learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them. Well, my friends, I know my history lessons, and I sure won’t make the mistakes Senator Obama will,” McCain said.

John McCain then took a shot at the Democratic presidential candidate’s huge spending proposals, saying that they cannot possibly be funded without raisng taxes and by further increasing the national debt.

“Raising taxes makes a bad economy much worse. Keeping taxes low creates jobs, keeps money in your hands and strengthens our economy. What America needs in this hour is a fighter; someone who puts all his cards on the table and trusts the judgment of the American people,” McCain said. “I come from a long line of McCains who believed that to love America, is to fight for her.”

“If I’m elected President,” McCain continued, “I will fight to take America in a new direction from my first day in office until my last. I’m not afraid of the fight, I’m ready for it.”

McCain then reiterated his pledge to freeze federal spending, renegotiate distressed mortgages to help middle class homeowners, and cut taxes.

Yes, the larger-than-before Greek Columns are already being erected in Grant Park, the champagne is already on ice and Michelle Obama has most certainly already decided upon another lobster and caviar victory meal. What a bacchanal it will be!

But wait! What was it that the esteemed Reverend Jeremiah Wright said? Something like, “Don’t count your chickens, before they come home to roost,” I think.

    Political Republican Opinion:

Political Republican Opinion - Joe Biden is in hiding The problem with making a statement that questions the worthiness or policies of a presidential candidate that the mainstream Liberal media seems to think is the second coming of the messiah is, it creates quite a backlash. The media starts digging and asking questions. The American public starts to ask questions, too, that the Obama campaign doesn’t want asked. When innocent questions and statements cause this kind of a backlash, it’s no wonder that it would cause someone to go into hiding?

So where is Joe? No, not Joe the plumber; he’s a stand-up kind of guy who has withstood the smarmiest of media attacks and Obama campaign ploys that have been aimed at discrediting him. I’m talking about Joe Biden!

Ever since making the mistake of speaking his true feelings - that electing Barack Obama would lead to an immediate worldwide crisis and that we would not like the way that Obama would handle the situation - Joe Biden has, for all intents and purposes, crawled into a hole and covered himself with a rock. The American public, however, has one question it wants answered; that is, what the heck were you talking about, Joe?

Because Biden has not made himself available to answer this one reasonable question, it has led to all kinds of speculation as to what the vice presidential candidate might have been talking about. Barack Obama has dismissed the comment by Joe Biden as a “rhetorical flourish” and has attempted to twist the embarrassing statement into another opportunity to attack George Bush saying, “the key reason the next president will face such threats is because of the damaging policies of the past eight years.”

John McCain has a different take on the situation. Speaking at a campaign rally in Harrisburg, PA, McCain said, “We don’t want a president who invites testing from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting in two wars.”

Tucker Bounds, a McCain campaign spokesman added, “It’s not leadership for Barack Obama to promise to be straight with Americans, only to dismiss serious statements and concern from his own running mate as simple ‘rhetorical flourishes.’ Joe Biden guaranteed a generated international crisis if Barack Obama is elected, and a smile-for-the-cameras press conference isn’t going to mitigate the risk of an Obama presidency.”

In an interview with Drew Griffin on CNN on Tuesday night, Sarah Palin said, “Can you imagine if I would have said such a thing? … No, I think that you know we would be hounded and held accountable for — what in the world did you mean by that, VP, presidential candidate? Why would you say that, that mark my words, this nation will undergo international crisis if you elect Barack Obama? If I would have said that, you guys would have clobbered me.” Griffin responded: “You’re right. You’re right.”

Well, it’s nice t be right, isn’t it Sarah? It would be better to get an answer to the question, though, wouldn’t it? The reporter can’t answer it, Barack Obama can’t answer it and; most importantly of all, the American public can’t answer it. The Obama campaign has, no doubt, told Joe Biden to shut up and disappear. Barack Obama’s hiatus from the limelight to visit his ailing grandmother, frankly, couldn’t have come at a better time for him.

So, what’s the answer? It’s left up to us to create our own scenarios as to what Joe Biden was talking about …

Perhaps Joe Biden’s dire warning has to do with a terrorist attack. If so, does Biden have information that supports this? Where will the attack be? Here, in the US? Abroad? Only Joe knows!

Is Biden talking about an international incident? Today, a popular radio talk show host that shall go unnamed (at this point) sited an anonymous source that said that Iran is preparing a preemptive attack on Israel. Would the US back up Israel militarily under Barack Obama or would we sit idly by and let them defend themselves alone? Either way, there are bound to be a lot of unhappy Americans. Is this what you are talking about Joe?

Amanda, a commenter on my post, “Biden Warns: Obama Presidency Will Lead To World Crisis!,” thinks that Biden is hinting that Obama is going to reinstitute the draft. Her comment was as follows:

I believe Biden’s recent gaffe about Obama being tested by a rogue nation and that he and Obama will have to do something that All Americans will be against is a warning that Obama will impose the draft. After reading Biden’s remarks that day and comparing them to remarks Obama made about his support for a draft at the ServiceNation Presidential Forum at Columbia University on Sept. 11, 2008 I can come to no other conclusion.

Obama: “But it’s also important that a president speaks to military service as an obligation not just of some, but of many…..I think it’s important for the president to say, this is an important obligation. If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some.” (see Transcript: Servicenation Presidential Forum at Columbia University)

And Biden’s remarks: “We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes,” he cautioned. “It’s so much more important than that. It’s so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it.”… “There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision.’”

Biden insists in his remarks that Obama’s decision will impact ALL of the country negatively. Biden couldn’t be talking about some random international attack that Obama would have to answer because that would only split the country. So logically there’s only one thing that would pit ALL US citizens against Obama in the way that Biden is asserting and that’s the draft! Then I remembered the ServiceNation Presidential forum Obama attended and it became pretty darn clear that’s what Biden was talking about.

The reinstatement of the draft was in the DNC platform. Charlie Rangel (NY) spoke about it saying the burden should be spread around. Obama is in favor of both boys and girls signing up at age 18. I think is connected to his call for more troops in Afghanistan.

Obama will give us mandatory military service; mandatory healthcare; mandatory taxes; mandatory suffering.

You may have something there, Amanda! Who knows, though? The one thing that struck me most in Amanda’s comment were the words of Charlie Rangel: “the burden should be spread around.” Hmmm … Where have I heard the phrase “should be spread around” before? …

Then there are those who suggest that the manufactured crisis will be economic and that the end-game will be to create a global currency. This is something that France and China have called for and Obama has certainly showed that he is deeply concerned with currying their favor. Glenn Beck made the following comments before Joe Biden’s stunning speech:

Then we have the theories that go beyond partisanship and suggest that leaders around the globe are part of a “secret society” and have been plotting to take over the world. Is this what Joe Biden is talking about? Check out this video about The Council of Foreign Relations and The Bilderberg Group:

I’m sure that there may be some (ahem) “creative” souls out there that believe that Biden was talking about an attack by extraterrestrials!

Since, Joe Biden has disappeared and Barack Obama’s cover-up spin is clearly insufficient, it is up to America to decide. What do you think Joe Biden was talking about? I would love to hear your theories!

    Political Republican Opinion:

Political Republican Opinion - Barney Frank and buns With a majority of polls showing Barack Obama with a comfortable lead and predictions that Democrats could pick up a filibuster-proof majority in Congress, tax and spend Liberals in Congress are unabashedly showing their hands.

In an interview on CNBC, Massachusetts Democratic US House of Representatives member, Barney Frank, said it’s time for “an immediate increase in spending and I think this is a time when ‘deficit fears’ need to take a second seat.” He added, “later on, I think there should be tax increases. Speaking personally, I think there are a lot of very rich people out there that we can tax at a point down the road and recover some of this money.

Turning a blind eye on spending that could bankrupt the government is nothing new to Barney Frank. Frank is the current chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and a chief proponent of the controversial low-income loans that were being doled out to people who could not afford them by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He has received campaign contributions in excess of $42,000 (granted, it’s only a fraction of the $126,349 that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac gave to Barack Obama to keep things at the status quo) from Fannie and Freddie and, in 2003, opposed George W. Bush’s calls for increasing oversight on the loan brokers. During that time, Frank said, “The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

On July 14th of this year, in a CNBC interview, Barney Frank said, “I think this is a case where Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally strong, that they are not in danger of going under … they are in good shape going forward … I do think their prospects going forward are very solid.” Less than two months later, the FHFA placed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into conservatorship in one of the largest government bailouts up until that time. We know now, that Fannie and Freddie were just the first couple of cards that sent the whole financial house of cards crashing down.

In September, media mogul Rupert Murdock accused Barney Frank of being one of the key individuals responsible for the current housing crisis. During the Neil Cavuto interview, Murdoch blamed Frank for his plan in the early 1990’s that pressured Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into making bad loans to underprivileged families. On October 6th, just two weeks ago, Barney Frank called Republican criticism of Democrats for the housing crisis “racially motivated.”

Barney Frank, who was formally reprimanded in July 1990 for his relationship with a male prostitute who was running an “escort service” out of Frank’s apartment and who is a strong advocate of decriminalizing marijuana, seemed quite smug and confident that the new government will be able to do an
