Yesterday, Mitt Romney continued his march of inevitability toward the G.O.P. presidential nomination with decisive victories in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia. The Obama administration has really been doing some creative accounting when it comes to reporting the number of unemployed Americans. Their skewing of the employment statistics is right up there with the deceptive practices China uses to manipulate its currency! While the average American is starting to feel all warm and fuzzy because Barack Obama has told them that the unemployment rate is going down, the President is hiding a dirty little secret; the number of people with jobs in this country has fallen to its lowest rate in three decades! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report released late Friday (which is when all presidential administrations release bad news that they want to hide), the number of able bodied, working age people who have a job of any kind (including part time jobs) is down to only 63.7% of the total workforce. During the Democratic Primary in 2008, Charles Gibson asked Barack Obama the only difficult question I think he was asked that whole year. The Democratic presidential hopeful did not have an answer then, he did not have an answer for it during the subsequent presidential debate with John McCain and he still does not have an answer. The question dealt with capitol gains taxes and how he could justify raising them. Not only did Charles Gibson point out that, historically, every time capital gains taxes have been raised, tax revenues to the federal government have decreased and that, conversely, every time they have been lowered, government tax revenues have increased, Mr. Gibson also pointed out that raising capital gains taxes would severely harm 100 million people in this country who own stocks or who have 401K’s that they depend on for their retirement income. You see, I promised a certain friend that I would not publish information about a finance company that he divulged to me in a private “off the record” conversation. I just can’t do it, though. According to a story on the Fox News website, the White House has illegally asked supporters of the Obama administration to e-mail them any stories that they see on the web that are “fishy” in regards to those sites/blogs reporting of facts about his administration’s health care plan. The story reports that the White House blog states, “There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there,” adding, “since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help.” This shows how far the Obama administration will go to silence its detractors – just as many predicted would happen if Barack Obama was elected (just ask “Joe the Plumber”). We all know the story of Robin Hood. Or, at least many people think they do. They sum the story up in one simplistic line: “He robbed from the rich and gave to the poor.” It is those same simple-minded people who think the current elected government has plans to do just that. They applaud Barack Obama and their other newly elected Liberal-minded government officials who have plans to increase the taxes the evil “wealthy” people pay and give that money to the poor, starving people who, through no fault of their own, have not been able to eek out a living for themselves.
