It’s Sunday - my lazy posting day. As usual, I have more chores than can be done before the football games begin (I do have my priorities!) and I even have a customer who I promised I would go see this morning (he’s only available on Sundays). Nonetheless, I have collected a few snippets this week that are pertinent to this year’s presidential election and that I have saved for today:

McCain Rapidly Gaining Ground On Obama

On Saturday, Reuters posted the results of the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll that indicated that Barack Obama’s national lead had slipped from 12 points on Thursday, to 10 points on Friday and just 9 points that day.

Today, the Obama lead slid another whopping 4 points to just a 5 point lead over John McCain in the Sunday Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll.

The reason for the abrupt gains by John McCain is - get this - the economy! Now that McCain has finally shifted his focus from negative attack ads to the thing that is foremost on the minds of Americans, voters are beginning to question whether Obama’s plan will put the country in a far worse position than it currently is in and are beginning to believe that John McCain has the better plan.

Despite the mainstream Liberal media’s attempts to discourage Republicans from wasting their time at the voting booth, common sense is finally beginning to sink in. The poll manipulations are not working anymore and Republicans need to vote now more than ever before!

Democrat Supporter – “Joe Biden is a Liar and a Cheat!

Normally, I take these kinds of things with a grain of salt. When someone posts an E-Mail message purporting to be from a credible source, how can one be sure? I guess it depends on who the source is and whether there is any supporting evidence or a way to follow up with the source.

There may be something fishy here and I’m still not completely sure; but, an E-Mail posted on the “Political View” seems to pass the “stink test.”

The message is purportedly from a member of the Board of Directors of a private jet company who claims that Joe Biden stiffed his company for $15,000. I am inclined to believe that this is a credible story because he provides all of his contact information. Not only does Bruce D. Riddle provide his name, title and company that he works for, but he lists his business phone number, cell phone number and fax number. I hope he likes to correspond with people a lot!

One thing is bothering me about it, however. It seems to be impossible to post a comment on the blog. There is a brief video following the E-Mail that contains a collection of Obama and Biden gaffes as well as a montage of pictures of Obama and some of his more dubious associates. At the bottom, there is a Digg bookmark and a “posted by” link pointing to someone who goes by the pseudonym of “Timely.”

“Timely,” it turns out, is Tim Ley, whose claim to fame is that he and his family witnessed a “huge UFO” passing over their home. The bio also states that Tim was at Woodstock in 1969. Whoa dude, talk about a serious flashback!

I did not bother calling Bruce Riddle and I’m sure there are plenty of you out there who would be more than happy to. If it is all a bogus story made up by someone who had one too many hits of the happy hay, so be it. At least there was a fun video to watch!

Obama Mocks Christians!

There’s not much to say about this that the video doesn’t say itself. I could rant and rave about how Obama is not a real Christian and about how his views of Christianity have been skewed by the teachings of Reverend Wright or by his mother, the atheist.

Why believe me, though? I’ll just let Barack Obama speak for himself:

The problem with making a statement that questions the worthiness or policies of a presidential candidate that the mainstream Liberal media seems to think is the second coming of the messiah is, it creates quite a backlash. The media starts digging and asking questions. The American public starts to ask questions, too, that the Obama campaign doesn’t want asked. When innocent questions and statements cause this kind of a backlash, it’s no wonder that it would cause someone to go into hiding?

So where is Joe? No, not Joe the plumber; he’s a stand-up kind of guy who has withstood the smarmiest of media attacks and Obama campaign ploys that have been aimed at discrediting him. I’m talking about Joe Biden!

Ever since making the mistake of speaking his true feelings - that electing Barack Obama would lead to an immediate worldwide crisis and that we would not like the way that Obama would handle the situation - Joe Biden has, for all intents and purposes, crawled into a hole and covered himself with a rock. The American public, however, has one question it wants answered; that is, what the heck were you talking about, Joe?

Because Biden has not made himself available to answer this one reasonable question, it has led to all kinds of speculation as to what the vice presidential candidate might have been talking about. Barack Obama has dismissed the comment by Joe Biden as a “rhetorical flourish” and has attempted to twist the embarrassing statement into another opportunity to attack George Bush saying, “the key reason the next president will face such threats is because of the damaging policies of the past eight years.”

John McCain has a different take on the situation. Speaking at a campaign rally in Harrisburg, PA, McCain said, “We don’t want a president who invites testing from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting in two wars.”

Tucker Bounds, a McCain campaign spokesman added, “It’s not leadership for Barack Obama to promise to be straight with Americans, only to dismiss serious statements and concern from his own running mate as simple ‘rhetorical flourishes.’ Joe Biden guaranteed a generated international crisis if Barack Obama is elected, and a smile-for-the-cameras press conference isn’t going to mitigate the risk of an Obama presidency.”

In an interview with Drew Griffin on CNN on Tuesday night, Sarah Palin said, “Can you imagine if I would have said such a thing? … No, I think that you know we would be hounded and held accountable for — what in the world did you mean by that, VP, presidential candidate? Why would you say that, that mark my words, this nation will undergo international crisis if you elect Barack Obama? If I would have said that, you guys would have clobbered me.” Griffin responded: “You’re right. You’re right.”

Well, it’s nice t be right, isn’t it Sarah? It would be better to get an answer to the question, though, wouldn’t it? The reporter can’t answer it, Barack Obama can’t answer it and; most importantly of all, the American public can’t answer it. The Obama campaign has, no doubt, told Joe Biden to shut up and disappear. Barack Obama’s hiatus from the limelight to visit his ailing grandmother, frankly, couldn’t have come at a better time for him.

So, what’s the answer? It’s left up to us to create our own scenarios as to what Joe Biden was talking about …

Perhaps Joe Biden’s dire warning has to do with a terrorist attack. If so, does Biden have information that supports this? Where will the attack be? Here, in the US? Abroad? Only Joe knows!

Is Biden talking about an international incident? Today, a popular radio talk show host that shall go unnamed (at this point) sited an anonymous source that said that Iran is preparing a preemptive attack on Israel. Would the US back up Israel militarily under Barack Obama or would we sit idly by and let them defend themselves alone? Either way, there are bound to be a lot of unhappy Americans. Is this what you are talking about Joe?

Amanda, a commenter on my post, “Biden Warns: Obama Presidency Will Lead To World Crisis!,” thinks that Biden is hinting that Obama is going to reinstitute the draft. Her comment was as follows:

I believe Biden’s recent gaffe about Obama being tested by a rogue nation and that he and Obama will have to do something that All Americans will be against is a warning that Obama will impose the draft. After reading Biden’s remarks that day and comparing them to remarks Obama made about his support for a draft at the ServiceNation Presidential Forum at Columbia University on Sept. 11, 2008 I can come to no other conclusion.

Obama: “But it’s also important that a president speaks to military service as an obligation not just of some, but of many…..I think it’s important for the president to say, this is an important obligation. If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some.” (see Transcript: Servicenation Presidential Forum at Columbia University)

And Biden’s remarks: “We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes,” he cautioned. “It’s so much more important than that. It’s so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it.”… “There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision.’”

Biden insists in his remarks that Obama’s decision will impact ALL of the country negatively. Biden couldn’t be talking about some random international attack that Obama would have to answer because that would only split the country. So logically there’s only one thing that would pit ALL US citizens against Obama in the way that Biden is asserting and that’s the draft! Then I remembered the ServiceNation Presidential forum Obama attended and it became pretty darn clear that’s what Biden was talking about.

The reinstatement of the draft was in the DNC platform. Charlie Rangel (NY) spoke about it saying the burden should be spread around. Obama is in favor of both boys and girls signing up at age 18. I think is connected to his call for more troops in Afghanistan.

Obama will give us mandatory military service; mandatory healthcare; mandatory taxes; mandatory suffering.

You may have something there, Amanda! Who knows, though? The one thing that struck me most in Amanda’s comment were the words of Charlie Rangel: “the burden should be spread around.” Hmmm … Where have I heard the phrase “should be spread around” before? …

Then there are those who suggest that the manufactured crisis will be economic and that the end-game will be to create a global currency. This is something that France and China have called for and Obama has certainly showed that he is deeply concerned with currying their favor. Glenn Beck made the following comments before Joe Biden’s stunning speech:

Then we have the theories that go beyond partisanship and suggest that leaders around the globe are part of a “secret society” and have been plotting to take over the world. I’m sure that there may be some (ahem) “creative” souls out there that believe that Biden was talking about an attack by extraterrestrials!

Since, Joe Biden has disappeared and Barack Obama’s cover-up spin is clearly insufficient, it is up to America to decide. What do you think Joe Biden was talking about? I would love to hear your theories!

Speaking at a Seattle fundraising event on Sunday, Joe Biden warned that, if elected, Barack Obama will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in office and that he will need his supporters to stand by him as the Obama administration does something in response that will not be a popular decision. His actual speech was as follows:

“Mark my words; it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator, president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here, if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate … and he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you - not financially to help him - we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

In addition to having to deal with the vague, unspecified “generated crisis,” Biden went on to warn the assembled group about the economic problems that Obama will face if he is elected:

“Gird your loins; we’re gonna win with your help, God willing, we’re gonna win, but this is not gonna be an easy ride. This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. It’s like cleaning the Augean stables, man. This is more than just, this is more than – think about it, literally, think about it – this is more than just a capital crisis, this is more than just markets. This is a systemic problem we have with this economy.

I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I’m not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it, this guy has it. But he’s gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, ‘Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?’ We’re gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I’m asking you now, I’m asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you’re going to have to reinforce us.

There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’, because if you think the decision is sound when they’re made, which I believe you will when they’re made, they’re not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they’re popular, they’re probably not sound.”

Biden spoke specifically about the treacherous Afghanistan-Pakistan border, saying Osama bin Laden is “alive and well” and that Pakistan is “bristling with nuclear weapons,” adding:

You literally can see what these kids are up against, our kids in that region; the place is crawling with al Qaeda. And it’s real. We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes. It’s so much more important than that. It’s so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it.”

After about fifteen minutes, Joe Biden seemed to become aware of the media in the back of the small ballroom where the fundraising event was being held. He added:

“I probably shouldn’t have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here. All kidding aside, these guys have left us in a God-awful place. We have the ability to straighten it out. It’s gonna take a little bit of time, so I ask you to stay with us. Stay with us.”

The Political Republican Opinion Blog has posted this speech for three reasons. First and foremost, is to point out that even Barack Obama’s own running mate seems to think that Obama’s inexperience will be exploited by other world leaders. Second, is to warn America that the country, according to Biden, is going to pay a serious price for electing Obama. Third, is to point out what should be obvious to all; Joe Biden would make a very scary president, himself.

Why Biden would say these things is completely beyond me. Is he intentionally trying to sabotage the Obama presidential bid? Is he just trying to show that he is an honest politician, regardless of the costs? Or, are we beginning to see Joe Biden’s age become a factor and that he may be a few screwdrivers short of a full tool kit?

One thing’s for sure, Biden’s speech should make voters seriously question whether Barack Obama OR Joe Biden has the tools needed to lead this great country at a time when we cannot afford to make a mistake!

It must be great to be part of the Obama-Biden ticket. Both Barack Obama and now, Joe Biden can say anything and get away with it. Whenever either of them has been confronted with statements they have made in the past that contradict their current positions, they simply deny ever saying it. They know that they can get away with it because the mainstream Liberal media is in their back pocket.

During Thursday night’s Sarah Palin-Joe Biden debate, Joe Biden told more than a dozen bold face lies. I guarantee you that you will not hear about any of them on any of the major networks, CNN, or CNBC. Instead, it is up to the blogosphere, talk radio and Fox News to do the real news reporting in this country. Following, are the most poignant of the lies from the debate that Joe Biden will surely get away with:

1. Joe Biden said that John McCain voted the same way as Barack Obama on a budget resolution procedural vote to raise taxes on American individuals that made as little as $42,000 per year. As usual, Republicans and Democrats voted essentially down Party lines with Obama in favor of the tax increase. Many blogs are incorrectly stating that John McCain voted against the tax increase. In actuality, John McCain was one of five senators who did not vote at all on that particular roll call vote. (see Congress.org)

2. Joe Biden claimed that John McCain said that he “wouldn’t even sit down” with the government of Spain. When asked three separate times during an interview on Miami’s Radio Caracol if he would sit down with Spain’s President Zapatero, John McCain never committed either way. Liberal blogs and now Joe Biden have distorted this fact, however. His actual answer was “I am willing to meet with any leader who is dedicated to the same principles and philosophies that we are for human rights, democracy and freedom.” (An audio recording of the oft-misrepresented radio interview can be found here. For those of you who don’t feel like listening to the whole thing, the questions regarding Spain start precisely at minute number three of the interview.)

3. When Biden claimed that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, he was clearly lying. Obama specifically stated that he would sit down with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea without any preconditions, and Joe Biden attacked him for it during the Democratic Presidential Primaries (see video here).

4. Joe Biden claimed that a comment he made about not supporting clean coal while in a rope line was taken out of context. In the rope line, he specifically states “We’re not supporting clean coal” and “No coal plants here in America!” (see the video here).

5. Joe Biden is exaggerating when he states that John McCain voted against alternative energy 20 times. He actually voted against it 11 times. This was long before oil prices climbed to the astronomical levels that they are at now and before the technology was even close to offering an alternative that did not cost more than it produced. In the other instances that Joe Biden presumably used to arrive at his inflated figure, McCain voted against mandatory use of alternative energy sources or he voted in favor of allowing exemptions from mandates.

6. Joe Biden claimed that John McCain wanted to deregulate the health care industry, stating, “John recently wrote an article in a ‘major magazine’ saying that [what] he wants to do for the health care industry [is] deregulate it and let the free market move like he did for the banking industry.” This is a misrepresentation of the facts. In a magazine called “Contingencies,” John McCain discussed allowing people to buy health care across state lines stating, “Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.”

7. Joe Biden claimed on numerous occasions that John McCain’s tax plan would give oil companies a $4 billion tax cut. This is a very deceptive way of spinning McCain’s actual tax plan. In it, he would lower the corporate tax rate on all companies from 35% to 25% - not just the oil industry. The $4 billion figure is a guess, dreamed up by the Democratic Party’s team of economic “experts.”

8. Joe Biden said that the Iraqi government “has an $80 billion surplus.” Actually, some analysts have previously projected that the Iraqi government could have “as much as” $79 billion by the end of the year. These projections were made before the Iraqi government approved a $21 billion spending bill. The figure that the government now has in the bank is closer to $21 billion.

Now, to be fair, Sarah Palin misrepresented a few facts as well. Most of hers were a little less blatant and were probably due to an inability to correctly recall names and figures crammed during the crash course of her recent rise into the Washington political scene. For example, Sarah Palin called General David D. McKiernan “General McClellan” and misstated that the amount of troops in Iraq were at pre-surge levels. (There are currently 6,000 more troops in Iraq than there were before the surge, but they should be at pre-surge levels before the November election.) The Political Repblican Opinion Blog is sure you will hear about each and every one of Sarah Palin’s debate missteps. It’s too bad that our “free press” won’t be so free as to point out Joe Biden’s!

As I was in the process of finishing up my National Defense Issue post in the Comparing McCain and Obama Series, I became distracted by an article that appeared on The Washington Times online. The article explores the possibility that the 2008 presidential contest could finish in an Electoral College 269-269 tie.

Think it can’t happen? “Take the 2004 map and switch Iowa, New Mexico and Colorado into the Blue column, which is what the poll numbers indicate. Then, take New Hampshire and give it to McCain, which is what two recent polls suggest is going to happen. There is your tie,” the article states. Another possible scenario offereded in The Washington Times article is, “if … John McCain wins Ohio, Virginia, New Hampshire and Indiana - not at all far-fetched - and Mr. Obama takes reliably Democratic states Pennsylvania and Michigan, and flips Colorado (in which he holds a slight poll lead), with the two splitting New Mexico and Nevada, the electoral vote would be tied at 269.” Then, what would happen?

Well, according to the article, things get pretty dicey as far as the U.S. Constitution is concerned. The framers of the Constitution were fairly vague in their wording of the procedures that would follow. The confusion all centers on whether the currently sitting Congress would determine the tie-breaker or whether the newly elected Congress would.

The Constitution states that the House of Representatives “shall immediately” choose by ballot, the new President. Because the Electoral College ballots are counted in December, some argue that the outgoing Congress would be in charge of making the decision.

Others argue that operative - and decisive - verbiage was set out in U.S. Code Title 3, Chapter 1, Section 15, in 1934. It states that “”Congress shall be in session on the sixth day of January succeeding every meeting of the electors. The Senate and House of Representatives shall meet in the Hall of the House of Representatives at the hour of 1 o’clock in the afternoon on that day.”

The Constitution further provides that the Senate would choose the Vice President in such a scenario. This means that we could have an Obama-Palin White House or a McCain-Biden one. The possibility exists that Dick Cheney may be responsible for selecting the next Vice President, as well!

Other possible scenarios?

The newly elected House is unable to come up with a majority in which case, the burden falls upon the newly elected Senate to choose an acting President until the House can break the deadlock. The Washington Times article assumes in this scenario, that a Democrat-controlled Senate may choose Joe Biden as the acting President, should the House be unable to break the tie by noon on January 20, 2009 – inauguration day.

In another equally far-fetched scenario, neither the House nor the Senate is able to come up with a majority for the President or Vice President by January 20th. In this case, the Speaker of the House, currently Nancy Pelosi, would become the acting President until the whole mess is settled.

Regardless of which scenario you choose, The Political Republican Opinion Blog feels there would be a lengthy series of legal challenges that might leave the office of the President of the United States legally “vacant” for years. If precedent is any indicator, however, the same issue was decided in 1800, when Thomas Jefferson was appointed President by the newly elected House of Representatives in February after an Electoral College tie with Raymond Burr.

I sometimes think that the Democratic Party intentionally throws elections. It is far too easy to sit back and be an armchair quarterback than to actually put yourself on the line and have to be accountable.

If there’s one thing that Political Republicans know about Liberals, it’s that they love to complain. They complain about their leaders, they complain about the police, they complain about the judicial system, they complain about the military, they complain about their jobs, they complain about people with better jobs, they complain about their country, they complain, they complain, they complain.

When pressed about what they would do to fix things, they have no answer. All they know is somebody has got to CHANGE things. Then, they select unelectable people to run as their Presidential candidates so that when they lose, they can complain about the system and the Republican President.

The Democratic Party cannot possibly be trying to win this Presidential election. This should have been the easiest election ever for the Democratic Party to win. Instead, they selected a candidate who could not be further from the “uniter” he claims to be when they had a candidate who could have easily won the election in a landside – Hillary Clinton. [The Political Republican Opinion blog couldn’t be happier with their choice, incidentally].

Now, to further diminish the chances of their Presidential candidate winning, Democrats are coming out of the woodwork to sabotage the Obama campaign. If the past two days are any indication, the McCain-Palin ticket should have this election wrapped up by the end of the month. Here are some of the gems from the past two days:

• South Carolina Democratic Party chairperson, Carol Fowler said that John McCain had chosen a running mate “whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” Later, in an attempt to apologize, Fowler made this incoherent statement: “I personally admire and respect the difficult choices that women make everyday, and I apologize to anyone who finds my comment offensive. I clumsily was making a point about people in South Carolina who may vote based on a single issue. Whether it’s the environment, the economy, the war or a woman’s right to choose, there are people who will cast their vote based on a single issue. That was the only point I was attempting to make.” [How about those whose single issue is CHANGE?]

• When asked by E! News Weekend Canada today, about what she thought of Sarah Palin, noted (ahem) Mensa candidate, Pamela Anderson, offered these incredibly insightful remarks: “I can’t stand her; she can suck it!” [Who would know better?]

• Also today, Matt Damon, who seems to believe that he really is the genius he portrayed in Good Will Hunting, offered this incredible volley: “You do the actuary tables and there’s a one-out-of-three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn’t survive his first term and it will be President Palin . . . and I think that’s a really scary thing because I don’t know anything about her … I know she was a mayor of a really, really small town. And she was governor of Alaska for less than two years. I just don’t understand . . . I think the pick was made for political purposes but in terms of governance it’s a disaster … It’s like a bad Disney movie … ‘I’m just a hockey mom from Alaska.’ And she’s the president … and it’s like she’s facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It’s absurd. It’s totally absurd.” [And here you said you didn’t know anything about her. You’ve already written an entire script around her! Come on, Matt; you forgot the best part of the story … “and we all live happily ever after!”]

• Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential running mate offered not one, but two gems in the last twenty-four hours. Yesterday, he asked wheelchair-bound Chuck Graham to “stand up [and] let the people see you!” (Oops!). And today, while at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, Biden revealed this: “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States. Let’s get that straight. She is qualified to be president of the United States of America. She is easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, might’ve been a better pick than me.” [See? Just after saying one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard from a politician (except, maybe, “I voted for the war before I voted against it!”), Biden redeems himself by making the most intelligent point I’ve heard from a Democrat this year!]

• And, of course, the list wouldn’t be complete without their exalted leader, Barack Obama’s, jaw-dropping remarks made two days ago that “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig!” [Whether Obama intentionally made this remark as a jab at Sarah Palin or not, it has really shaken women up. The blogs are littered with indignant women who are fuming that Obama is the pig in this scenario. If nothing else, The Political Republican Opinion believes that it was incredibly poor judgement on his part and judgement is, perhaps, more important than any attribute of a potential President.]

As Democrats scramble in an effort to halt the rise of the McCain-Palin star, they continue to step in it time after time. With every attack on Sarah Palin, Obama’s numbers continue to drop. Political Republicans can just sit back and watch with glee as the entire Democratic Party melts down. Today’s Gallup poll had John McCain with a 4% lead over Barack Obama amongst likely voters. That’s six straight days now that McCain has had a lead over Obama.

What’s more, according to an article on FT.com (Financial Times), some members of Congress are becoming worried that Barack Obama’s faltering campaign may be hurting their chances for re-election. One Democratic fundraiser said that some Democratic Congressional candidates are beginning to distance themselves from Barack Obama and have decided it is against their best interests to criticize John McCain.

As the rats fight each other to be first off the sinking ship, Political Republicans are laughing too hard to throw them a lifeline.

The Political Republican feels that Barack Obama’s pick of Joe Biden as his Vice Presidential running mate could not be a more perfect match. Biden will have no choice but to join Senator Obama, continuing Obama’s policy of abruptly changing his political stances. Consider the following videos:

Senators Biden and Obama have differing opinions on many political issues:

• Biden voted for the war in Iraq, calling Saddam Hussein “an extreme danger to the world.” Even after no weapons of mass destruction were found, Biden continued to support the Iraq war, saying, “I still believe that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction and that the war in Iraq was justified.” Obama said that Saddam Hussein posed “no imminent and direct threat to the United States or to his neighbors.”

• Joe Biden agreed with Senator John McCain on “the surge,” stating, “I’ve believed for a long time, a view shared by my Republican colleague John McCain and many others as well, that we need more force in Iraq. That’s not a popular position to take. But we need more force now in order to have less force later. We need to gain control of security in Iraq.” Barack Obama refuses to this day to admit that the surge was the right decision.

• Senator Biden is vehement in his stance against off-shore drilling for oil. In July, he called Republican efforts to allow off-shore drilling “a last-ditch effort to go out and rape the offshore continental shelf, so that they own it and are able to use it as leverage in the future.” Barack Obama has recently said that he would support a new energy policy that included off-shore drilling (although he left enough wiggle room for an elephant to squirm out of it).

The one thing that the new Democratic ticket has in common, is their far-left political views. There are not two more Liberal politicians in the U.S. Senate than Barack Obama and Joe Biden. How they will spin their political differences will be interesting to watch. The Political Republican can hardly wait for the flip-flopping to begin!
