The oil companies are showing their largest profits ever this year and it has become a major issue in many political campaigns. As part of their “Big Corporation Bad, Little Abused Citizen Good” theme, the Democratic party has been playing on the knee-jerk reactions of many who have not taken the time to do the math. Republicans are up in arms everywhere over this one! After commenting on how embarrassed he is about Americans’ inability to speak foreign languages when they visit Europe, Barack Obama made the outlandish statement that Americans need to make sure that their children learn to speak Spanish. No, he didn’t say that children needed to learn to speak French or German, places visited far more frequently than Spain by Americans who travel to Europe; he specifically stated “Spanish.” Could Barack Obama be more blatant in his pandering for the Hispanic American vote? The Obama campaign made it official on Friday, announcing that there will be a state-by-state roll call during the Democratic Party National Convention. The decision to have a floor vote is a move that the Obama campaign hopes will appease the many Hillary Clinton supporters who have, thus far, refused to back Obama in his bid for the White House. According to politico.com, Representative Loretta Sanchez says she’s “happy for the chance to vote for Hillary Clinton,” adding that she believes that as many as half of the Democrats in the house could join her.
